My story: Letters to the ones I love and hate
Welcome to "My Story," a deeply personal journey shared with the hope of connection and understanding. Here, I open up about my experiences in a narcissistic relationship, not just to share my truth, but to find solidarity and offer a beacon of companionship to others who might be navigating similar paths.

Why I'm sharing my truth
I am currently still in this relationship, and the decision to share my experiences is driven by a profound need for connection and insight. By opening up, I hope to receive much-needed advice and understanding from those who have walked similar paths. More importantly, I want to reach out to others who are also in narcissistic relationships, to let them know they are not alone in their struggles.

Turning points: A journey of change
Life is full of moments that shape us, but some stand out more than others. For me, a major turning point was the passing of my mother nine years ago. That same year marked the beginning of my current relationship, intertwining grief and a new chapter in a way I never anticipated. These pivotal moments have profoundly influenced my journey and my understanding of myself and others.

You are not to blame: Understanding narcissistic relationships
The most important message I want to convey is that it is not your fault you entered a toxic relationship. Most likely, you were duped. Narcissists have an uncanny ability to sense vulnerability, and that is when they ensnare you. It doesn't matter if you are typically guarded, looking for love, intelligent, wealthy, self-sufficient, or financially dependent on your parents. A narcissist sees everything you possess—your money, car, home, or other important relationships—as an opportunity to make it theirs. If they aren't directly profiting from your achievements, they will try to sabotage them so you cannot have them either. A narcissist will be the most charming person you will ever meet, masking a deeply manipulative nature.
"Opening up about my journey has been both challenging and incredibly cathartic. Your support means the world."
